1 large box Lemon Cook & Serve pudding
3 egg yolks
¾ cups sugar
water
1 large box Orange jello
1 small box Lemon Instant pudding
½-1 cup milk
small cool whip
Mandarin Oranges
Make Lemon Cook & Serve and Orange Jellos according to package directions. Combine together until smooth and pour into a 9x13” pan. Let set several hours.
For topping, combine Lemon instant pudding with some milk; fold in cool whip. Spread over orange/lemon set jello. Top with mandarin oranges in neat rows. Yum!
What do you do with the egg yolks, sugar and water?
ReplyDeleteThe egg yolks, sugar and water are for the lemon pudding, as per the box requirements. You make the lemon pudding according to the box instructions. Hope you try it... This is one of our favorite thanksgiving side dishes!
ReplyDeleteThank you! It's ready for the topping. Can't wait to try it later!!
ReplyDeleteDo you let the Orange jello set before adding it to the lemon?
ReplyDeleteI made this today for Thanksgiving 2014, as my oldest son loves mandarin oranges. Not only did he love it, but the whole family gave it a thumbs up!! It was so delicious, fruity and creamy at the same time. Would go well with all foods. I will definitely make this again! Thank you for sharing your recipe! Happy Holidays!!
ReplyDeleteI am still unclear on what to do with the egg yolks, sugar, and water. The lemon pudding says to add 2 cups milk. Do I add the above ingredients instead?
ReplyDeleteMake sure you buy the cook and serve lemon pudding, not the instant kind. That's where the egg yolks, sugar, and water are required.
DeleteHope that helps. ☺
Make the jellos and pudding as packages describe and then mix as described in her recipe....
ReplyDeleteI feel like my mom made a version of this but it was more yellow, and she added banana slices to the jello part. Well, it's a start to go from there :) thanks for sharing
